Andy Douse

Head of Communications

“The skill isn’t making complex subjects sound simple. It’s understanding them well enough to make them clear, accurate and useful for whoever needs to read them.”

About Andy Douse

An award-winning communications strategist and journalist, Andy has spent his career finding the right way to tell complex stories. His experience spans journalism, PR, internal communications, strategic messaging and content, giving him the ability to get under the skin of a subject quickly and understand what an audience really needs to know. At Wrapped, he leads communications and content across a wide range of sectors, with particular expertise in medical, pharmaceutical and financial content. His previous work includes award-winning communications for Teva Pharmaceuticals, alongside major public-sector and corporate organisations.

One of Andy’s particular strengths in regulated sectors is his ability to make the complex clear without losing the detail that matters. He can move from highly technical medical, pharmaceutical or financial content written for an expert audience through to clear, accessible patient or customer-facing communications – and everything in between. That distinction matters. Simplifying a complex subject isn’t about dumbing it down; it’s about understanding it well enough to know what needs to stay, what can be explained more clearly and how the language needs to change for the person reading it. Whether he’s communicating clinical information, a complex financial proposition or a highly regulated message, Andy focuses on helping people understand, trust and, ultimately, act.

For Andy, great content also depends on understanding everything around it. Working as part of a full-service team means he can collaborate with medical and sector specialists on accuracy, brand strategists on messaging and tone of voice, search specialists on how people are looking for information, and designers and developers on how that information is ultimately presented and experienced. It means content isn’t simply written to fill a page or satisfy a brief; it has a clear role within the wider strategy, while still meeting the very different needs of regulators, professionals, customers and patients.
